Test
Method
Alcat
Method Description
The Alcat Test measures food/immune reactions through stimulation of leukocytes. The Alcat Test does not identify type 1 classical IgE mediated (anaphylaxis) allergies.
Platform
The impedance method of blood cell counting and sizing. (ROBOCat II)
Report Includes
Specimens
Whole Blood
Clinical Utility
The Alcat Test is a functional response test and captures the final common pathway of many of the pathogenic mechanisms, immunologic, toxic, and pharmacologic, that underlie non-IgE mediated reactions to foods and chemicals.
