Position: IT Operations Engineer – Kaseya Platform
Reports to: IT Director
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Six-Months Contract (with possibility of extension based on business needs and performance). Full-time hours.
Salary Range: C$72,000-$90,000 per year plus 4% vacation pay.

Primary Focus: Ownership, configuration, optimization, and ongoing administration of Kaseya tools, including Autotask Ticketing System and Kaseya security platforms.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Engineer – Kaseya Platform to own and continuously improve our Kaseya ecosystem. This hands-on role focuses on tooling optimization, workflow automation, monitoring, and security visibility, ensuring IT operations run efficiently, securely, and aligned with IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Own the administration, configuration, and optimization of Kaseya platforms and ITSM tools.
  • Design, maintain, and improve Incident, Service Request, and Change Management workflows.
  • Monitor and report on system performance, KPIs, SLAs, and alerts to ensure operational efficiency and security visibility.
  • Integrate Kaseya platforms with enterprise systems, including Microsoft 365 (M365) security tools.
  • Support Active Directory (AD) and endpoint monitoring for asset visibility and security compliance.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), documentation, and operational processes.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, optimize, and improve IT operations and service delivery.

Hands-on Experience Needed to Excel in This Role

  • Autotask – ticketing and workflow automation.
  • Kaseya VSA & SaaS Alerts – platform administration and monitoring.
  • RocketCyber – security monitoring and alerting.
  • Datto EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response) & AV (Antivirus) – endpoint security management.
  • Microsoft 365 (M365) Security Platforms – Defender, Purview, and email security.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Post-secondary education in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience considered.

Experience:

  • 3–7 years in IT Operations, IT Support, or IT Security Platform Administration.
  • Strong ITSM knowledge (Incident Management, Change Management, KPIs, SLAs).
  • Hands-on experience with Kaseya tools and Microsoft enterprise environments (M365, AD, Intune, Windows 11).
  • Experience creating SOPs, reports, dashboards, and workflow optimization.

Key Competencies

  • Experience in Managed Service Provider (MSP) or managed IT environments.
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent ITSM certification.
  • Security monitoring or Security Operations Center (SOC) experience.
  • Experience integrating ticketing, monitoring, and security platforms.
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into tool configurations.
