Position: Data Management Analyst (ETL and Microsoft BI)
Reports to: Lead, Data Management
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Three-Year Contract (with possibility of extension based on business needs and performance)
Salary Range: $72,000-$90,000 per year

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Data Management Analyst to support and strengthen enterprise data operations, integrations, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows, and reporting. The role supports critical data pipelines and reporting processes used by business, clinical, and laboratory teams, ensuring data is accurate, secure, and available when needed. This position works hands-on with Microsoft SQL Server technologies, business intelligence tools, and secure data transfers in a healthcare environment where data quality, reliability, and privacy are essential.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Support daily data operations to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain secure file-based data transfers using File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
  • Develop and support ETL pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Write, optimize, and support SQL and Transact-SQL (T-SQL) queries, procedures, and views.
  • Build and maintain reports using Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Investigate and resolve data quality, integration, and reporting issues.
  • Maintain clear documentation for data processes, integrations, and reporting logic.
  • Support Key Performance Indicator (KPI), operational, and management reporting.
  • Work with stakeholders to translate reporting needs into reliable outputs.
  • Ensure compliant handling of Personal Health Information (PHI).

Hands-on Experience Needed to Excel in This Role

  • Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • SQL SSIS for ETL workflows (Visual Studio).
  • Secure file-based and FTP data integrations.
  • Power BI report and dashboard development (datasets, refresh, publishing, access control).
  • Automation, monitoring, and recovery of scheduled data jobs.
  • Scripting or programming (PowerShell, Python, C#/.NET, or similar).

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, or Health Informatics or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.

Experience:

  • Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server integration, reporting, and management tools.
  • Strong SQL / T-SQL skills, including performance tuning and validation.
  • Demonstrated experience building and supporting automated ETL pipelines.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Power BI reports and datasets.
  • Experience supporting file-based integrations and FTP transfers.
  • Familiarity with PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act) and PHI handling.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive operational environment.
