ICL is proud to offer Fecal Immunochemical Testing (FIT), an at-home screening test for colorectal (colon) cancer, to eligible Canadians.
The FIT is a safe and painless stool-based test that checks for tiny drops of blood in the stool. Blood in the stool can be a sign of colon cancer or polyps, which are growths in the colon or rectum that can develop into cancer over time.
ICL has been performing the FIT test in-house for clients across Canada for nearly a decade. As of July 2026, ICL is the laboratory performing FIT testing for ColonCancerCheck, Ontario’s free organized screening program for colon cancer.
If you are a health care provider and want to learn more about how to access FIT through ICL, please visit the pages below.
