Test ID: PNPA SP

Paraneoplastic Antibodies Expanded Panel (LHSC), Serum/Plasma

Test Overview

Clinical Utility

A clinical diagnosis should not be made solely based on a neural antibody result; results should be interpreted in the context of the patients clinical presentation and other ancillary test findings to ensure accurate diagnosis.

Method

Various

Analytical Platform

Immunoblot: EUROBlotOne

Method Description

Immunoblot
Positive anti Hu, Yo, Ri, amphiphysin, CV2, Ma2, SOX-1, Zic4 and Tr (DNER) by immunoblot will be reflexed to tissue indirect immunofluorescence (TIIF) assay (reported based on immunoblot).
Positive anti-GAD65 by immunoblot will be reflexed to GAD65 ELISA. (Please note that GAD65 immunoblot is not optimal to screen for Anti-GAD65. If interested in testing for Anti-GAD65 specifically, consider alternative test methodology such as GAD65 ELISA.)
Anti-titin and antirecoverin antibodies are determined by immunoblot only.
