Collection & Handling

Handling Information

  1. Spin whole blood for 10 min at 2000 x g, keep in ice bucket at 4°C during processing.
  2. Mark the plasma level on the tube and then remove plasma, leaving the red cells in the original tube.
  3. Fill the tube to or above pre-marked plasma level line with saline solution (0.85% NaCl (w/v) 4.25 g/500 mL, stored at 4°C). Cap the tube and mix it by inverting several times.
  4. Spin and discard the saline solution.
  5. Perform the wash (steps 3 and 4) three times.
