Restrict caffeine, nicotine and alcohol 24 hours prior to collection. Discontinue Methyldopa (Aldomet) at least 5 days prior to collection. Other drugs do not interfere with this assay.

Collect urine in a container with 25 mL 6 mol/L (6N) HCl acid.
Handling Information
The final pH must be maintained between 2.0 – 4.0. Indicate 24 hour volume and collection date.
