Patient Preparation

The test will not be suitable for the patient who had a blood transfusion within 2-4 weeks, or the patient who had an allogenic bone marrow transplant.

Do not eat, drink, or bruch the teeth within 30-45 minutes prior to the collection. Presence of food or foreign matter can alter the test result. Rinse month throughly with water 10 minutes prior to collection.

Collection & Handling

Collection Instructions

1. Remove collection tuve from the kit and place funnel inside of collection tube.
2. Allow saliva to pool in the mouth. Tilt head forward gently and guide saliva through the funnel into the tube.
3. There must be 1.5 – 2.0 mL of saliva within the tube, not including bubbles. Remove and discard the funnel.

Handling Information

Store and send ambient or cold as soon as possible.
