This assay measures the primary active form of Vitamin B1 (Thiamine diphosphate) and is the recommended test for assessment of body stores (thiamine deficiency). Thiamine and thiamine monophosphate are not measured.

Fasting (12 – 14 h) recommended but non-fasting is acceptable. Avoid vitamin supplementation for 24 hours prior to collection.
